Cortijo Molino Cerradura

Cortijo Molino Cerradura is a newly renovated mill kept true to Alpujarra architectural style, set in 2 acres of land with mainly olive and almond trees and a wonderful addition to our portfolio of Alpujarra properties. It is situated one kilometre up a track from the village of Yator in the Alpujarra countryside . This is a very tranquil location with the sound of water from the small river, with bamboo growing, the scent of wild herbs, the shepherd passing by with his herd of goats and sheep grazing as they go along and often has Bonellies eagles flying overhead.

This Alpujarra cortijo in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Granada offers very comfortable rental accommodation with wonderful opportunities for walking in the Alpujarra mountains and mountain biking, bird-watching, painting, complementary therapies and relaxing by sampling the local wine from the Alpujarras mountains. One in particular , an organic wine is well known, also the famous jamon serrano. Alpujarra.

Yator is a sleepy village and has two bars , a very small shop , visiting vans selling bread, fruit and vegetables and fish. It also has a swimming pool open in the summer months. The plaza is dominated by an interesting old church parts of which date back to the 15th Century.

Also in the plaza there is a working olive mill which can be seen working long hours through January and February, the olives from Cerradura trees go to the Mill. You can buy the oil in various quantities, Ed wardo the owner is very proud of his Milll and will be happy to show you around. It is a wonderful example of Alpujarras living.

Cerradura has full central heating , mains electricity and water and a wood-burning stove in the living room.

Downstair: Main entrance into the hallway this has access to:

Living/dinning room with log burning stove set in the fireplace. It has built in seating, sofa and chairs, the dining table comfortably seats 8 people. There is a CD player for entertainment.

Kitchen which is spacious and has gas cooker, fridge /freezer and dishwasher, it is very well equipped.

Shower room having toilet, shower and wash hand basin and washing machine.

Bedroom 4 having two single beds and a fitted wardrobe.

Outside from the kitchen is a terrace with outdoor table and chairs and BBQ.

We have almond trees, olive trees, fig trees and vines, we have also planted orange and lemon trees which hopefully will soon bear fruit.

Upstairs: Master bedroom with 5 ft. bed, fitted wardrobe, en-suite shower room and access to small balcony with views over the land.

Bedroom 2 . having double bed and fitted wardrobes and access to one of 3 the balconies.

Shower room with toilet and washbasin.

A large terrace off the hallway, a lovely place to sit and relax with views down the valley to the Sierra Contravesia.

Attached to this Alpujarra cortijo at the back part is a one bedroom apartment with its own separate entrance door and outdoor area, quite private from the main house.
