| Casa
Cueva is a traditional white washed village house with beamed
ceilings and terracotta tiled floors renovated by local craftsmen
and ourselves . It has a cave where once the animals would
have been kept and now is a wonderfully cool place to be in
the hot weather. It is situated in the village of Yegen in
Las Alpujarras where the architecture of the quaint white
villages cling to the hillsides in compact clusters of irregularly
shaped houses with tall chimneys sprouting from flat roofs
- unique in Spain. Famous also for the jamon, ceramics, basket
wear and local rugs. |

Accommodation
Master bedroom with ensuite shower room double bed wardrobe
and chest of drawers, an oil filled radiator
2 further double bedrooms one with a double bed and the other
with 2 single beds all with wardrobes and shelves and oil filled
radiators.
Bathroom
Washbasin wc and bath with shower over.
Kitchen / Dining room
The kitchen has a gas cooker, a fridge/freezer aTnd is well
equipped. The dining area has a simple pine table with 7 chairs
and a heater.
Living room
The living room is large and has sofas and chairs, a wood-burning
fire and an oil filled radiator, furnished in a simple style
with local rugs and throws, a CD player and with spectacular
views to the Sierras. |
Outside
A covered balcony off the living room with built in seating
and table with spectacular views.
Also a roof terrace with steps from outside, which is part
covered and has table chairs and BBQ. and again the same spectacular
views. |
Notes
on Accommodation
The house will be made ready for your arrival by Lucienne and
she will be pleased to help should the need arise , she speaks
excellent English. The arrival time is 4 pm unless previously
agreed, often out of the main season this is not a problem and
the departure time is 10am again unless previously agreed.
There are information books and maps in the house for your use. |

Travel
There is a choice of 2 airports Almeria one and a half hours
drive away or Malaga which is 3 hours drive away.
Car hire is almost essential though it is possible to get
round on public transport. Coast /beach/ swimming pools .The
nearest beach is La Rabita which is 50 minutes drive away
with more choice a short distance further. There are swimming
pools within 15 minutes drive away, Valor had a new pool open
in 2003, then Cadiar and Ugijar.
